Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh or Ipoh City Council (MBI) is a local authority which administrates Ipoh city centre and other areas. This agency is under Perak state government. Ipoh City Council's administration is headed by a Mayor who is responsible for managing all matters related to public health and sanitation, waste management, urban planning, environmental protection and building control, social and economic development and general maintenance functions of urban infrastructure. Until now, a total of eight people have been served on the Mayor of Ipoh City Council.
